Former fnatic player becomes the new coach of Apeks Rebels

Apeks Rebels announce the appointment of Dennis "Rytter" Rytter as the new head coach of the team. This appointment signifies a change in the team's strategic direction, with Philip "Philip" Ljoset, the former head coach, now taking up the position of assistant coach.

Rytter, who has significant experience working with academic teams, joins Apeks Rebels after a successful stint at Nordavind Talent/00PROSPECTS since June 2021. In a comment, Rytter expressed his excitement about the new appointment:

It’s with great pleasure that I as of today will become the head coach of Apeks Rebels. I have always had the deepest respect for Apeks as a club and I can’t wait to start my journey together with all the great people within the club.

This move also marks a change in the strategic direction of Apeks Rebels. Under Rytter's leadership, the team will shift its focus from Norwegian to Scandinavian talents. According to Anders Kjaer, COO of Apeks Rebels, this is due to the talent pool in Norway not being deep enough.

During his playing career, Rytter played for fnatic for several months and even attended the S-tier tournament DreamHack Winter 2012 with them, where the team finished 9-12th. The Dane ended his career in 2013.
