G2 sensationally gets eliminated the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023

G2 failed to reach the playoffs for the second consecutive time. In the previous Major, they didn't make it at all, and in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, they couldn't advance from the Legends stage, finishing with a 2-3 record. This time at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, the team only secured one victory, and today they lost to Fnatic with a score of 1-2.

G2 fought valiantly, staging a comeback from 4-11 on Inferno, but on Ancient and Vertigo, they could only secure 11 and 13 rounds, respectively. Fnatic displayed psychological resilience, denying their opponents a second comeback on the decisive map.

The only good news for G2 is that jks was the best player of the match with 78 frags and 88 ADR (Average Damage per Round). Throughout the tournament, his rating was not exceptional, standing at 5.6, but today it is hard to blame him for the defeat.

Detailed statistics of the match-up are available at the link.

Emotions of m0NESY after the elimination

I have nothing to say, you've seen it all. It's very sad to realize that I haven't played in the Major playoffs even once... This is not the last game. I promise, I will be ready for the next one. Once again, I apologize for such a disgrace, I will try my best.

The parallel match between Liquid and Into The Breach wasn't as unpredictable, but the British club made the Americans nervous on Overpass, taking 10 rounds on defense. Liquid responded with a series of rounds after switching sides, pushing it to overtime. As for Anubis, it was completely under the control of nitr0 and the company, except for the first pistol round. Now North America will be represented in the playoffs at the Accor Arena.

If oSee maintains his current form until the playoffs, Liquid might protect themselves from elimination in the quarterfinals. With a K/D of 60-32 and a rating of 7.8, that was the performance of the American organization's sniper in the previous bo3.
