Gambit and Virtus.pro disqualified from ESL Pro League
Russian organizations will not take part in the event.
Another tournament organizer to react to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict turned out to be ESL.
ESL officially announced that teams connected to the Russian government are not allowed to take part in ESL Pro League Season 15 due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. “On the upcoming ESL Pro League, we decided that organizations with apparent ties to the Russian government, including individuals or organizations under alleged or confirmed EU sanctions related to the conflict, will not be allowed to be represented (currently we identified two teams - Virtus.pro and Gambit),” ESL stated.
However, ESL allowed the rosters to attend the tournament without the organization, flag, and sponsors. So, we will not see Gambit and Virtus.pro logos at ESL Pro League Season 15.
Virtus.pro are going to battle for the playoff spot in group B, while Gambit are meant to be part of group C. ESL Pro League Season 15 starts on March 9th.
