GODSENT upset Team Liquid, to the IEM Fall NA final

Second semifinal of the event.

Both Team Liquid and GODSENT have already guaranteed themselves a berth at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 but with only two wins for the IEM Fall North America crown, the match was still as important as it gets.

Back and forth on Inferno, Team Liquid looked to be in control despite losing both pistols, as the favourites led “13-11” on their defensive side. That was when GODSENT’s offence decided to be done with the map, as they won five out of the six remaining rounds to win the map in regulation, “16-14”. Moving to Nuke, Team Liquid once again were in control and led “8-5”, but a last ditch effort buy from GODSENT not only gave them a chance to switch to the defence with only one round deficit, but to shut out the North American team’s offence, “16-8”, “2-0”.

With that upset win, GODSENT will now face off against FURIA Esports for the IEM Fall North America championship, while Team Liquid are going to clash with paiN Gaming for the third place at the event.
