Guild Esports May Disband Two CS2 Teams

Guild Esports, the organization co-owned by soccer icon David Beckham, is reportedly considering disbanding two of its Counter-Strike 2 teams, the Guild Eagles and Guild Fe, due to underwhelming performances.

The male squad, Guild Eagles, has been part of the organization since November 14, 2023. Despite being active for several months, the team failed to secure any significant victories, earning a modest total of $34,422 from tournaments. This lack of major success has put them on the chopping block as the organization reevaluates its competitive strategy.

Current lineup:

Similarly, the female team, Guild Fe, has struggled to make a significant impact in the esports scene. Over their tenure, they accumulated earnings of $3,600, a sum of smaller prizes from various competitions. Like their male counterparts, the absence of notable achievements has led to discussions about their future within Guild Esports.

Current lineup:

  • Marta D7 Asensio
  • Anna Ann4 Laurinoviča
  • Thea pullox Evensen
  • Katharina KiTKaT Bauenmand
  • Linnea Nea Claesson

These potential disbandments highlight the challenges even well-backed esports organizations face in cultivating winning teams. As Guild Esports deliberates on these decisions, the esports community awaits to see how this could reshape the organization's approach to competitive gaming and team management.
