"I didn't expect us to play so well," kuben commented after ENCE's advance to the main stage of IEM Katowice 2024.

In his post-match interview, ENCE coach Jakub kuben Gurczynski commented on his team's performance at the championship. Yesterday, ENCE earned their slot in the main stage of IEM Katowice 2024.

From the start of the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-in, ENCE showed mediocre results. They lost their first game to team BIG.

The match was played in a bo1 format, where ENCE lost to their opponents on Ancient with a score of 9:13. However, falling into the lower bracket, the team found a second wind.

First, the guys beat Astralis with a score of 2:0 (Vertigo 13:10, Ancient 13:4) on maps. Then they finished their performance at IEM Katowice 2024 with a victory over TheMongolz team with a score of 2:1 (Mirage 16:13, Nuke 10:13, Anubis 13:5) on maps. Thus, securing their place in the main stage of the championship.

kuben:

Honestly, I was surprised at how well we started. I didn't expect us to play so well.
We trained a lot, even more than I wanted, because I never prioritized quantity over quality. I think we just need more time for theory, because we played a lot of practice matches, achieved good results on them, but didn't quite have enough time for reflection, summarizing, and correcting all mistakes.

ENCE's first opponent at IEM Katowice 2024 will be the guys from Team Vitality, the match will start today at 20:30 Kyiv time.

The main stage of IEM Katowice 2024 will take place from February 3 to 11 in Poland. The winner of the tournament will receive not only $400,000 but also slots at IEM Cologne 2024 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2024.
