B8 Esports captain Arseniy cptkurtka023 Derevinsky told how the first match for the team at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR A went. In an exclusive post-match interview for Cover.gg, Derevinsky also shared his opinion about the next opponent and the group.

About the match against MOUZ

The game was intense but not difficult. I was a little worried at the beginning of the first and second halves, and then, as the rounds began to pass, the worries all went away. We suspected that it might be Ancient. We were preparing and understood that the probability of this map was high. We were not surprised.
He [the first ace in the tournament] was spontaneous. I killed the first one, just blew the second one in a suitable situation, and then we had a minority, and I just decided to play. When they threw a smoke there, I understood that I would run out and kill everyone, or they would kill me. In another way, this round will not be ours. I decided to do it like this, and it was an ace.

About the meeting with Virtus.pro and rivals in the group

The match [against Virtus.pro] will be tough. [VP] champions of the last major. I'm sure they approached RMR in excellent shape. They took KaiR0N, played with him, and at the last tournament, they already played well and will play even better at RMR. We expect a very tough match.
We were lucky with the group. Group B [on the European RMR] looks more complicated, considering the teams there. In group A, many teams are volatile, and in group B many good ones are now playing stably.

There are no teams against which I would not like to play. In general, I really like to oppose tier-1 teams. This is a new experience, engaging and cool. There is a team that I would like to play with on stage - this is FaZe. We played with them, now it would be interesting to play an official match.

About preparation for RMR

We sat at the bootcamp for less than a week. OWNER, alex666, and I have been training together for a long time, so for the three of us, the bootcamp lasted for three months, and we stayed for a week as a whole team and came here. They played tactics and different things. We played a lot with Spirit and ENCE. In general, I am satisfied [with the preparation]. We will surprise you with our game!
