Liquid have officially signed Patsi and Rainwalker. Will the lineup be able to perform in America?

Previously reported by several eSports media about the transition of Robert Patsi Isyanov and Alex Rainwalker Petrov to Liquid has been confirmed thanks to the official announcement of the American organization.

End of an Era

Along with that, riffler Jonathan EliGE Jablonowski, who had played for the club since early 2015, was moved to the reserves. According to Dust2.us, Complexity contacted him after unsuccessful negotiations with Evil Geniuses, but no contract has been signed yet.

The peculiarity of EliGE's position is also the fact that he is a co-owner of Liquid, acquiring a significant amount of shares in the club in 2021 - in order to avoid conflicts of interest, the American will be forced to sell them.

Liquid's updated roster

  • Patsi
  • Rainwaker
  • oSee
  • YEKINDAR
  • NAF
  • daps (coach)

Goodbye America?

With only two North American players (if you don't count the coach) on the new Liquid roster, it's very likely that the club will have to play in Europe - the most competitive region of the CS:GO world.

However, the club can get around this rule if Patsi and Rainwaker are entered in a particular tournament as a replacement for EliGE or daps, who will be "reassigned" to a player role. One of them will skip the tournaments all the time, supposedly "sick". A similar loophole was used in the past by Heroic and Cloud9.

Recall that Liquid's revamped lineup will debut on July 13 at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 in Copenhagen.
