madss from FlyQuest RED discussed her views on the idea of mixed rosters in Counter-Strike

During the finals of ESL Impact League Season 4 in Valencia, FlyQuest RED player Marissa "madss" Dasta shared her thoughts on the importance of mixed Counter-Strike. FlyQuest RED was unable to pass the group stage, finishing last in Group A after losses to Fluxo Demons and HSG.

madss emphasized that mixed Counter-Strike is of great significance, comparing qualifying for the ESL Challenger League with successes in the ESL Impact League, even considering it more significant. She noted that many members of her team are eager for the development of mixed CS, despite doubts in the community. Madss believes there are many women, especially in Europe, who have the potential to perform at a high level in mixed rosters.

I would say it means a lot. It would mean probably just as much as winning an Impact event, if not more. I think everybody on the team wants to push for mixed Counter-Strike and a lot of people think it’s a joke but I think there are a lot of girls, especially in Europe, who have a lot of potential in mixed CS.

Women's teams rarely participate in men's tournaments, and even the strongest women's team, Nigma Galaxy fe, has not shown successful results on the tier-3 men's scene. The situation with teams having mixed rosters is also quite rare. An example of successful participation of women in mixed rosters is Vivien "BiBiAhn" Kuach, who represented Australia at the IESF World Esports Championship 2023.
