nawwk named the condition under which he can return to Ninjas in Pyjamas

Apeks player in CS2, Tim nawwk Jonasson, explained the condition under which he might accept an offer from Ninjas in Pyjamas for a transfer. The Swedish esports athlete shared his opinion in an interview with Duncan Thorin Shields.

According to nawwk, the organization refused to pay players for stickers obtained as a result of participation in the RMR tournament before the cancelled major — ESL One: Rio Major 2020. At the same time, the player has no complaints about being replaced by Nikolai dev1ce Reedtz, expressing agreement with the decision.

Information that NiP was not planning to pay players for stickers from ESL One: Rio Major 2020 emerged in May 2022. The contracts of the esports players clearly stipulate the amounts the club was supposed to pay players for sticker revenue. However, NiP's management in the case of the Brazilian major referred to statements by Valve representatives, who claimed that despite the cancellation of the tournament, sticker money would be transferred to clubs to compensate for pandemic-caused losses.

Each NiP player was supposed to receive between $200,000 and $300,000. To protect their rights, the esports players turned to the Association of Professional Players in CS:GO (CSPPA). Initially, the association's representatives approached Valve to clarify the situation with the sticker money. The developers stated that it was just a statement in a blog and had no legal force. Subsequently, CSPPA began negotiations with NiP's management, but the Swedish club's management claimed that the structure was unrelated to the players' contracts and therefore the organization would not reconsider the payment issue.
