Ninjas in Pyjamas has received an invitation to the LAN tournament Svenska Cupen 2023, which will take place in Stockholm from December 1st to 3rd. The event's prize pool amounts to 500,000 Swedish kronor (approximately $45,000).
In addition to Ninjas in Pyjamas, the list of invited teams includes Alliance, EYEBALLERS, and GODSENT. Two more participants will be determined through closed qualifiers, which will run from October 23rd to November 5th.
Svenska Cupen is being held for the second time. Last year, Ninjas in Pyjamas emerged victorious, defeating EYEBALLERS in the final. This brought the teams $22,078 and $11,039, respectively. The third-place finisher was the rather unusual lineup of ex-Team Finest, featuring Alexander "hades" Miskiewicz and Patrick "f0rest" Lindberg.
For NIP, Svenska Cupen 2023 will be their third LAN tournament in Counter-Strike 2 after CS2 Asia Championships 2023 and BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023. Additionally, the Swedish organization will participate in Roobet Cup 2023 and Thunderpick World Championship 2023, which will be held online.
