The third day of the playoff at ESL Pro League has come to a close, and another semifinalist has been decided.
NIP faced Liquid. Previously, NIP made a decent group stage run, advancing directly to the quarterfinals, while Liquid took down Heroic in the first round of the playoff.
NIP take the spot in top-4
The match started with Ancient, picked by the American team. The first half of the map was as close as possible, but NIP won eight rounds before switching sides. The second half turned out to be the same, and Liquid didn’t manage to reach the overtime losing their pick 16-14.
NIP chose Overpass and collapsed in the first half of the map. Liquid seized early advantage on the CT side, winning ten rounds in the first half. NIP returned to the game after the sides switched but didn’t manage to finish the game in time. Liquid finished the map 16-14.
The decider was Inferno, and it turned out to be another close map. NIP won eight rounds in the first half. However, Liquid weren’t able to fight back on the CT side and lost the decider 16-12.
NIP advance to the semifinal to face ENCE, while Liquid leave the tournament with 5-8th.
