Pita Analyzes G2's Strategy, Suggests Improvements for Nexa

Faruk "pita" Pita, the renowned 33-year-old CS:GO coach, recently took to Twitter to share his analysis of G2's tactical approach since incorporating Nexa into their lineup. In a detailed post, Pita expressed concerns about the strategic misalignment affecting the team's performance.

Pita pinpointed a significant tactical error with Nexa's role within G2. He contrasted Nexa's playstyle with that of jks, noting that jks had the ability to single-handedly breach sites for G2, similar to ropz's impact on FaZe. According to Pita, Nexa's approach as an old-school lurker, focusing on macro plays rather than exploiting quick timings, inadvertently increases the pressure on his teammates, particularly on NiKo.

This strategy, Pita argues, allows opponents to predict G2's plays more easily, concentrating their defensive efforts effectively. Such predictability forces NiKo and other key players like huNter and m0nesy into disadvantageous confrontations, often leaving them overwhelmed by enemy utilities and firepower.

Highlighting the domino effect of this setup, Pita observed that when NiKo is neutralized early in rounds, it ramps up pressure on other players to compensate, which is not an ideal situation for winning consistently. Pita suggested that this was not an issue when jks was part of the team, as their tactics allowed for more dynamic and unpredictable gameplay.

For G2 to improve, Pita recommended several strategies during their potential month-long break if their current performance leads to early exits from tournaments:

  1. Activating Nexa by encouraging more aggressive lurking, though he noted this is challenging without innate confidence.
  2. Swapping roles to allow NiKo to revert to more proactive lurking positions, potentially pairing Nexa with HooXi and designating huNter as a semi-lurk.
  3. Alternatively, introducing a new player who could shoulder responsibilities similarly to jks, enhancing the team's ability to open sites and create opportunities.

Pita's insights reflect deep tactical understanding and pose serious considerations for G2 as they aim to refine their strategy and improve their competitive outcomes.
