Snax broke the world record for the number of maps played in official matches, taking him 14 years

Polish legend Janusz Snax Pogorzelski, who is currently playing for GamerLegion, played his 2414th map in an official match yesterday, thereby breaking the world record. It took him 14 years to achieve this feat.

Snax played his last match against Virtus.pro. The match stretched over three maps, allowing Snax to break the world record.

By the way, that match was part of the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-in, where GL managed to defeat their opponents with a score of 2:1 (Vertigo 13:3, Inferno 5:13, Overpass 13:9) in maps. But that's not the point right now.

It is not exactly known how many hours Snax has in the game, as his career started back in 2010 with the version of the game Counter-Strike 1.6. Moreover, the Pole has a private profile on Steam, where the hours are completely hidden. However, assuming that each map from official matches lasted at least 50 minutes, we get 2 thousand hours in matches alone.

So, the total amount of time spent in the game is clearly over 20,000 hours. But it's also worth noting that his Steam account was created 17.5 years ago, specifically on April 18, 2006.

Over 14 years of a rich career, the player managed to win $682,018 in prize money, and his main achievements include:

  • ESL One: New York 2018 (1st place)
  • ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014 (1st place)
  • ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 (2nd place)
  • DreamHack Open Bucharest 2016 (1st place)

Snax has a very extensive list of achievements, and it could take a very long time to list them all. But let's see who he surpassed in the top players by the number of maps played:

  1. Snax (GamerLegion) — 2414 maps
  2. Spiidi (Retired) — 2413 maps
  3. bubble (No Team) — 2398 maps
  4. TaZ (Coach of G2 Esports) — 2387 maps
  5. JW (EYEBALLERS) — 2374 maps

Today, GamerLegion begins their journey in the main stage of IEM Katowice 2024. More details about this tournament can be found here.
