stavn talks about competition in Astralis

Astralis CS2 player Martin stavn Lund shared information about the atmosphere within the team. The Danish esports player shared his thoughts in an interview with Dust2.dk.

According to Lund, representing Astralis is not the same as being a player for Heroic.

Being a player for Astralis is completely different from representing Heroic. I would say that here we have more obligations in terms of media, which is, however, normal for esports. Besides, this club has significantly more staff who are ready to help the team not only in CS but also outside the game. It's great to have such support.

stavn noted that individual results are not as important for his team. However, he believes that success can be achieved by teams in which each player deserves a place in the top of the world rankings.

We don't have competition within the team. I think for all of us, team success and victories in tournaments are much more important. I don't really think about the individual results of each of us. If you work hard every day, they will come by themselves. At the same time, I believe that this approach also has its place if the team learns to use it effectively. The main thing is that everyone in the team agrees on the view of the game. There is an example of Astralis, where all five players of the team made it into the top twenty for the year. It's not that hard, but we focus on other things.

Stavn joined the Astralis roster in November 2023 along with Jakob Jabbi Nygaard. They previously represented Heroic together. With the new team, they took the last places at the tournaments BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 and BetBoom Dacha, but later were able to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B.
