Support FalleN and clutcher kRaSnaL – who else made it into the "dream team" of the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 from Bo3.gg?

This Sunday saw the conclusion of the first major online championship in Counter-Strike 2, the Thunderpick World Championship 2023, bringing a plethora of vivid moments for fans of the game. This time, our dream team includes some unexpected players, whom we will talk about today.

Entry-fragger – z0nt1x

The young talent from Team Spirit, namely the youthful eighteen-year-old rifler of the team Miroslav zont1x Plakhotya, who made it into our dream team as an entry-fragger. Despite his team being eliminated in the quarterfinals – he became the best player by rating at the championship with an average rating over 6 maps of 7.3! And his success rate in first kills per round was - 0.175.

Sniper – Jame

The sniper of Virtus.pro, Jame Jame Ali, had a wonderful tournament for himself and led his team to the championship finals. Despite Virtus.pro losing to their opponents with a score of 0:2 in the finals, Jame consistently created space for his team and hit almost everything.

Currently, many snipers have started playing more with assault rifles, as playing with the AWP in CS2 has become much more complicated, especially when you're holding an angle and an opponent suddenly appears – it's almost impossible to hit. But this is not about Jame, as his kill rating with AWP was a whopping 0.500.

Clutcher – kRaSnaL

Polish rifler of the Monte team, Szymon kRaSnaL Mrożek takes the place of clutcher in our dream team at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023, as he managed to win 7 clutches throughout the championship. Most of them were of course won in one-on-two situations, but this does not take away from him the title of the best clutcher of the championship.

Consider this clutch against the Virtus.pro team in the quarterfinals:

Or this one-on-two clutch during the match against the SAW team:

Overall, kRaSnaL often plays distant positions on the map, such as "support B on Mirage," which sometimes requires him to retake the plant against his opponents alone. But, one should not forget how coolly he feels in such situations.

Support – FalleN

The sniper of Furia Esports, Gabriel FalleN Toledo, became the best support at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 for his exquisite work with grenades. Everyone feared his blinding grenades. FalleN's rating for assistance with blinding grenades was 0.103!

Rating is of course good, but more importantly is how much on average his opponents were blinded in seconds by his flashes. Namely on average 2.92 seconds! It is worth noting that the Furia team was unable to reach the playoffs, but considering that in three matches played the legend of Brazilian CS was able to reveal himself in this regard – only commands respect!

MVP - ropz

What top-5 would be complete without the championship MVP? Exactly – none. The title of MVP is taken by the rifler of the FaZe Clan, Robin ropz Kool, whose rating for 6.7 over 12 played maps.

ropz also became the best player with assault rifles among his teammates, namely his rating with the AK-47 was a whole 0.318! Robin also distinguished himself with the number of multi-kills at the championship:

  • 3 quadruple kills per round
  • 11 triple kills per round
  • 41 double kills per round

ropz at the ThunderPick World Championship 2023 had a 60.2% chance of killing his opponents with a headshot, which is a great result!

Let's remember that on October 5, 2023, the North American organization FaZe Clan became the champion of the ThunderPick World Championship 2023 by defeating Virtus.pro in the finals. For FaZe Clan, this is the second consecutive victory in the era of Counter-Strike 2.

FaZe Clan defeated Virtus.pro with a score of 2:0 (Ancient 13:10, Vertigo 19:17) by maps. The champions earned $250,000, while Virtus.pro received $100,000 for second place.

The Thunderpick World Championship 2023 took place from October 27 to November 5 online. Teams competed for a prize pool of $500,000. You can follow the schedule, news, and results of the tournament through the link.
