"We realized that we have problems, but it wasn't worth it," - STYKO after the defeat with a score of 0:13 at IEM Katowice 2024.

After the team Apeks made it to the main stage of IEM Katowice 2024, the team's rifler Martin STYKO Styk gave a brief interview. In which he talked about what the team felt when they lost the match with a score of 0:13.

For Apeks, it was their very first match at the championship, after which, according to Martin, the team analyzed and changed a lot.

Team Apeks lost to Ancient with a score of 0:13, to Team Spirit.

After which it fell into the lower bracket and first dealt with FURIA with a score of 2:1 (Inferno 13:9, Mirage 10:13, Ancient 13:11) by maps. And a little later in the match for entry into the main stage of the championship, it defeated BIG with a score of 2:1 (Inferno 7:13, Vertigo 13:10, Ancient 16:14).

And here's what STYKO says about the match against Team Spirit:

Basically, the 13-0 was like a blessing in disguise. We had an extensive talk in the practice room after that loss. It was nothing bad, we were owned, we were clearly worse, but it wasn't worth a 13-0 in our opinion. But we basically talked about our identity, how we want to play the game, how we want to approach some of the rounds, especially on T side because sense is a new IGL. We have to kind of push him to know how we want to play as experienced players, jkaem, nawwk, me, and CacaNito.That was our focal point for the rest of this stage to work on these T sides. Actually, before we came here our CT sides were the main thing where we struggled, but here I think we only played bad T sides. FURIA on Mirage, we had 0-11 or something, Spirit was 13-0, and today on Ancient we had 9-3 or something. CT sides were actually pretty good.
