00NATION buys 13.5% of Guild shares

The Norwegian esports organization 00NATION has officially become the owner of 13.5% of the shares of Guild Esports, a British company supported by David Beckham, having invested 1 million pounds sterling back in October 2023. Information about 00Nation's investments in Guild initially remained undisclosed until British legislation required Guild to publish details about changes in ownership structure.

According to an official Guild announcement from January 31st, 00Nation acquired 100 million voting shares, equaling 13.54% of the voting rights in the company. Guild Esports expanded its Counter-Strike operations by signing the Bad News Eagles team, and now its collaboration with 00Nation, which also has its own Counter-Strike team, raises questions about potential conflicts of interest.

In the past, Valve has encountered similar situations when one organization owned several teams, leading to conflicts of interest in competitions. Since both 00Nation and Guild Eagles are active in the European Counter-Strike scene and could potentially compete in the same tournaments, this new financial interaction could lead to additional scrutiny and regulation by competition organizers.
