Top 10 best CS2 players in January 2024 — ZywOo out of competition

The first month of the new competitive year in Counter-Strike 2 has come to an end. Tournament organizers managed to hold a Tier-1 championship and closed qualifiers for the RMR leading to the first Major in the history of CS2. In this article, Bo3.gg recaps January and determines the top esports player.

When forming the top 10 CS2 players in January 2024, we analyzed the statistics of 80 professional players who participated in BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 and the closed qualifiers for RMR leading to PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Individual player ratings, average KDR, DPR, and ADR values were taken into account in the calculations. Players were awarded points for each metric, and the sum influenced their final position in the ranking.

About the Bo3.gg Rating

Evaluating a CS2 player's performance is a complex task due to the diverse aspects of each round, such as bomb planting or the first kill. Therefore, the optimal approach involves calculating the rating for each individual round and then tallying the overall score for the entire map.

We believe that Bo3.gg provides the most accurate rating, making it easy and convenient to assess each player's results in every round, on each map, and in each match. This rating takes into account new factors, such as side selection, economic status, and many others that were previously ignored in ratings. The maximum rating value is 10 points!

Additional details about the methodology of rating calculation are available at this link.

Top 10 CS2 Players in January 2024

#10. David "frozen" Čerňanský

frozen is still adapting to FaZe Clan's playstyle, which reflects on his confidence, directly impacting the team's results. Nevertheless, he still performed at a relatively high level. His average ADR is 87.61, and KPR is 0.73. Čerňanský concluded January with an average rating of 6.6.

#9. Ivan "iM" Mihai

iM has finally started finding his game within Natus Vincere. It seems that after Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev went inactive, there was less pressure on him within the team, allowing him to transform. Mihai's average rating for the past month is 6.5.

#8. Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov

Unexpectedly for everyone, w0nderful proved to be more than ready for the tier-1 scene. While his actions on the map may not be comparable to s1mple's, they yield results. Zhdanov confidently interacts with teammates and performs well in clutch situations. On average, he dealt 67.7 damage and secured 0.73 kills per round. w0nderful's rating in January is 6.4.

#7. Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia

Despite the transfer to Team Falcons, it cannot be said that SunPayus is playing in a new team. Therefore, it's expected that the Spanish esports athlete continued to showcase his level of play from the previous year. His average rating was 6.6.

#6. Valerij "b1t" Vakhovsjkyj

Is the 2022 version of b1t back? That's what comes to mind when you see the Ukrainian's gameplay. Simply a fragging machine. His average ADR is 83.31, and KPR is 0.73. Vakhovsjkyj concluded January with an average rating of 6.7.

#5. Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev

In January, FL1T averaged 81.04 damage and 0.7 kills per round. His rating was 6.5.

#4. Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy

Perfecto is the only Cloud9 player who performed at a commendable level in the past month. The rest of the roster simply underperformed, as evidenced by their 9-12th place in BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024. Zalutskiy's average rating for the past month is 6.7.

#3. Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov

m0NESY is the sole factor through which G2 Esports can win matches. If Osipov is not performing well, it means the team has significant issues. His average ADR is 82.75, and KPR is 0.84. He concluded January with an average rating of 7.

#2. Dzhami "Jame" Ali

Some admire Jame's slow playing style, while others can't stand it. His game may not be considered flashy, but it is academically sound. This tactic led to him having the lowest average death rate on the tier-1 scene — 0.43. Ali's rating was 6.8.

#1. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut

The best player of 2023 started the new competitive season with absolute confidence. There simply was no equal to him on the server. ZywOo won rounds that seemed impossible to secure. He has every chance to become the greatest player in the history of CS2. The average ADR is 96.69, and KPR is 0.94. ZywOo concluded January with an average rating of 7.4.

The individual performance of these esports athletes had a significant impact on their teams' results in January 2024. They provided fans with unforgettable emotions and highlights. We hope that each of them on this list will continue to consistently demonstrate the highest level of play in CS2.
