CBCS RMR resumes with playoffs

Important step for the Major

South America is getting closer to finding out their lone representative at the PGL Major Stockholm.

Second RMR tournament, CBCS Elite League Season 2 decided to implement the classic Major system at the event, with Swiss system transitioning into a single elimination playoffs. Only semifinalists are going to earn valuable RMR points to keep their qualifying hopes alive.

Favourite, however, is fairly obvious and it’s MIBR. Dating back to their days under BOOM Esports banner, “chelo” and his team have not lost much in this region and with GODSENT, O PLANO, Team One and paiN Gaming choosing to play in North American qualifier, it’s their region to lose. Despite all the struggles internationally, MIBR still massacred their opponents in the group stage and first test might come only in the semifinals.

If everything goes according to plan, there they will face Sharks Esports, team which managed to take maps away from them during the last event. Squad led by “jnt” is capable of putting up an upset, especially due to their prowess on Ancient, but they need to get to the semifinals first. Other side of the bracket features likes of Paqueta and Bravos, teams with a lot of local talent, which might get poached by the bigger squads after Major ends.

Final match is going to be played on Sunday, August, 8th, so South America is going to join CIS in probably the only two regions to host all three RMR events instead of two.
