Draken fell for API scam

Renowned Counter-Strike player William Draken Sundin reportedly lost a valuable knife worth $4,000 to an API scam, despite Valve recently implementing two new security systems.

The incident became known after Draken himself tweeted about it. According to him, he and his teammate Hampus decided to exchange knife skins. However, while accepting a trade offer on Steam, draken accidentally clicked on another trade offer with an identical profile picture. This scammer sent a trade offer at the same time as Hampus, leading draken to believe it was legitimate.

This incident highlights the ongoing problem of API scams in CS2, where scammers exploit loopholes in the Steam trading system to trick users into accepting fraudulent offers. Despite Valve's efforts to combat this problem with new security measures, it seems that scammers are finding ways to get around them.

it was Hampus, because why else would I have received another offer at the same time that Hampus sent my offer, and with an identical Steam profile picture. I'm guessing some scam company is monitoring Hampus' profile and monitoring his trades because he has a very high 2/3 value.

It is important that players be vigilant when trading items online, especially high value items. Always double check the details of a deal before accepting it and never click on suspicious links or accept offers from unknown users.
