How ENCE were eliminated?

At IEM Katowice 2023, ENCE played three matches, two of which they lost. In the opening BO1, the team defeated paiN, but then lost two BO3s to Cloud9 and Complexity. The result of the match against Complexity especially surprised the fans. What went wrong in this series?

The first two maps were even, with both teams putting up a fight, and the score was predictable - 1:1. However, on the third map ENCE fell apart. Two players with a rating of 3.9 - that's a disaster that led to the defeat. The only one who performed more or less decently was Valdemar valde Bjørn Vangså with a score of 6.2.

ENCE players simply couldn't perform individually on the third map of the most important match, which led to defeat. It's hard to say what caused this - nerves or lack of preparation - but the result is the same: ENCE didn't make it to the main stage of IEM Katowice 2023.

History of ENCE and dycha at IEM Katowice

Dycha mentioned that Katowice is cursed for ENCE. The team once again failed to make it, but how did they perform before this?

Last year, ENCE managed to make it through the Play-In, but in the group stage, they faced two consecutive losses and were eliminated at 13th-16th place. In 2021 and 2020, ENCE didn't even reach the Play-In. The club's peak at the Polish event was the major in 2019, when the team took second place, but at that time the organization had a completely different roster.

At the same time, ENCE can by no means be called a bad team, last year the club showed three excellent results at tier-1 events - 2nd place at IEM Dallas 2022, 2nd place at ESL Pro League Season 15 and 3rd-4th place at PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The team seems to be cursed after taking second place at IEM Katowice.

When do ENCE play?

ENCE finished their participation at IEM Katowice 2023, and their next event will be the closed qualification for IEM Brazil 2023, starting on February 8th.
