Complexity's ELiGE Signs Conflict of Interest Declaration Ahead of RMR Americas

As the RMR Americas approaches, Complexity's player Jonathan "ELiGE" Jablonowski has taken a step to ensure fair play by signing a conflict of interest declaration. This action comes in light of ELiGE's unique position as both a player for Complexity and a minority shareholder of his former team, Team Liquid.

PGL, the event organizer, released a statement via social media explaining that ELiGE holds a minor stake of 0.043% in Team Liquid. By signing the declaration, he commits to abstaining from any competitive influence that could stem from this ownership. The move highlights the esports industry's growing attention to ethical conduct and the importance of maintaining competitive integrity.

Jason Lake, CEO of Complexity, has also addressed the issue, stating that Complexity currently harbors no conflicts of interest or commercial complications.

The requirement by PGL for all participating teams in the PGL CS2 RMR Americas to declare any potential conflicts of interest is a clear indicator of the organization's commitment to ensuring a level playing field. It's a policy that reflects the industry's concerted effort to uphold the standards of professional esports.

ELiGE's tenure with Team Liquid, which lasted from 2015 until 2023, ended with him obtaining a minor ownership stake in the organization in 2021. This declaration is a precedent-setting instance of a player taking responsibility to avoid any perceived bias or unfair advantage in competitive play, a testament to the professionalism that now underpins the esports ecosystem.
