Fnatic win against BIG at EPL S14

Fnatic win against BIG at EPL S14

First win for a new team.

The second day opener.

BIG, who trounced Evil Geniuses on the opening day of ESL Pro League Season 14, looked to keep the winning ways against a relatively new Fnatic lineup, which played a close game against Natus Vincere, but has ultimately fallen in two straight maps.

The German squad looked in control of their defence on Overpass with a three round lead at the halftime, but once they switched to the offence, it was all Fnatic. The European mix gave up only one round on their way to victory, “16-10”. A good start on Dust2 was not enough to close the game in two, however, as BIG ran away with the map once they seized economic control over the match, “16-7”. Back and forth on Nuke, it looked like Fnatic were going to close it in regulation, but four straight rounds on their attack gave BIG a second chance. Both squads survived against match points there, but in the end Fnatic managed to close it out with their defence, “22-19”, winning the series, “2-1”.

A much needed win pushes Fnatic back into contention as they are going to face off against FaZe Clan tomorrow, while BIG will go against an unbeaten Natus Vincere to begin the Sunday stretch.
