CCT Moved LAN Tournaments Online

CCT Moved LAN Tournaments Online

Tournament operator Champion of Champions Tour (CCT) decided to abandon LAN tournaments and move them online. The company announced this on Twitter.

Instead of ten championships in the LAN format, the organizers will hold five online competitions. In addition, CCT representatives noted that the prize pool of each tournament would be increased from $100,000 up to $200,000, and a total of one million dollars would be raffled off at the events. The reason for this decision was the busy schedule of the professional scene, which prevented status clubs from performing at the CCT championships.

CCT LAN tournaments

The first and only CCT LAN format championship was held in February in Malta. Eight teams won a prize fund of $100,000. Eternal Fire won the trophy by defeating Bad News Eagles in the grand final with a score of 2:1.

The Turkish team faced a tight schedule of matches and had to participate in both the CCT competition and the closed qualifiers for the European RMR before BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023.

CCT online finals

The tournament operator also announced changes in the composition of the participants of the final events. Now 16 teams will compete in the championships - three teams from two regions that qualified through the CCT tournaments and ten clubs that will be invited directly.

The first of five online finals will be held from May 23 to 30, while the dates of the remaining four events will be announced later.
